Maia Culbreath, originally from Los Angeles, California, trained at

Pasadena Dance Theatre before attending the University of North

Carolina School of the Arts under Susan Jaffe. She has spent summers

studying at Joffrey Ballet Chicago, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Boston

Ballet, Houston Ballet, Texas Ballet Theater, and Complexions

Contemporary Ballet. Maia danced with Richmond Ballet for two

seasons as a trainee before joining Fort Wayne Ballet as a member of

their corps de ballet where she performed corps and soloist roles. A

New York City based dancer, Maia is a company artist with Lydia

Johnson Dance and has been a guest artist with Neglia Ballet and

CityDanceNY. She previously made her choreographic debut for

Echoes of Her, an Arts on Site event featuring and celebrating female

voices in dance. Maia has taught ballet at the Lydia Johnson Dance

School and is also a certified Pilates instructor.

A fun fact about Maia is that she sang on the 2010 major motion picture soundtrack of A Nightmare on Elm Street.
